Yoga Therapy

Yoga is a very ancient science from more than 10 000 years ago.

According to Patanjali, one of the first ancient Indian sage who studied our psychophysiological predispositions and a way to control better our mind and body through physical and behavioral basic principles, “yoga is the restraint of the fluctuations of the mind ( in Sanskrit: citta = mind; vrtti = fluctuation; nirodhah = restraint or control)”. These fluctuations are all these thoughts flowing in our mind every second and are related to our desires, aversions, attachments and our Ego (I, me, mine).

Yoga refers to the stillness of our mind in order to allow us to be oneness and in union with our body. Yes, there is a spiritual aspect to it as the purpose of yoga was self-realization, in other words, to experience no separation with the Divine. Nevertheless, you don’t need to embrace this deeper meaning to have an interest in yoga nowadays or to benefit from practicing yoga. It doesn’t need to be a spiritual practice.

The path to sustainable health and happiness comes from addressing our ENTIRE person and this includes our body, our mind and our soul. Yoga leads to this.

My Yogi Journey...

Rukmini is my spiritual name given back in India. It means “golden” or “bright light”. Having a spiritual name is special and needs to be done in a prosperous context. In India, children get spiritual names from a young age.

Yogini since 18 years, I have transitioned from Asthanga & Vinyasa yoga to a traditional hatha indian style when I first lived in India 8 years ago. Like many people, I have initially started yoga for health reasons. Throughout the years, my pain reduced totally, my posture has straightened and I have built much more strength in my entire body just to name few. I have also developed an expertise about yoga, pain management and anatomy through my trainings, experience and specialized books.

Yoga brought so much greatness, meaning and love to my life. I am happy to share this ancient practice and wisdom.
